This painting is my first in a few years. I've been doing mainly graphite/pencil work for about 3 or 4 years. No better way to get back into painting than by doing another Bald Eagle. I've done several Eagle pieces over the years, I hope that each one improves a little over the last. I used the same subject reference that I used for my pencil drawing of Mississippi River Sentinel. As always, I thoroughly enjoy the eagles visits each and every winter here in Iowa along the rivers. A rare treat recently was seeing an adult in flight near our home. In October which seems a little early, but definitely not complaining. Maybe a great sign that they are sticking around all year long. What a great treat that would be.
