This is my 4th attempt of painting a Redtailed Hawk. One reason I like them so much is because they are seen frequently in my area, they do very well. Another reason is because I love their feather markings. There is such a nice variety of patterns, and I like the earth tones in the overall color pattern of the Redtail. This scene is a recreation of a place where I used to take my Cocker Spaniel "PJ" to walk/run. There was an elementary school on the outside of town that had a huge play area for the kids. It was surround by farm fields. Many times, early in the mornings, there was a haze or fog covering the area. We went out there all year long, so we saw all the seasons. We saw hawks, deer, and I especially liked when the geese were migrating. PJ and I had alot of nice walks and relaxing times out there.
