All my paintings are done with acrylic paints on a masonite board. The boards are smooth which allow me to get the fine detail that would be more difficult using canvas. It also is easier when I mix in an airbrush for certain areas. Each board is painted with gesso, allowed to dry then is sanded smooth. This is repeated normally 4 or 5 times until I have a nice, smooth, white board.
