This tree setting is right out our front door, so we get to watch the birds (plus cardinals) come to feed regularly on the red berries the tree produces. Normally each year, the Robins consume the majority of the berries before they leave on their winter migration to the South. But this, year, they left a little earlier. So, that was good for the cardinals and the other birds that spend the whole winter with us. It took them most of the winter to finish off the berries. We sometimes had a half dozen males, plus females in the tree at a time. It was great fun to watch them all winter.
