This is a "Spring Thaw" themed painting with a Robin as the subject. I didn't have to go far to research this one. This scene was right out our front door, about 10 feet away. One sunny, weekend morning last Spring, I noticed how the snow was melting around the tree in our front yard. I liked how there was patches of snow, and green grass sprouting up through the cracks. Plus, robins are plentiful around here. They are feast on the red berries this tree provides. Easy pickings at first, it's so full, but when the berries start getting picked over, then they struggle to grab the remaining small berries. They have to try to either hover, or catch them on the fly, or try to balance themselves to reach and pick them from a branch.
