Our family has been enjoying a place called Nahant Marsh. Years ago, this place was basically ruined by humans. Trash, lead from a gun club adjoining the marsh. Wildlife had bascially been shoved aside. But, it has made a comeback. Led by mainly volunteers, it has been cleaned up, wildlife has returned, and we also help by volunteering for cleanup sessions once in awhile. One of the main inhabitants is the Great Blue Heron. This painting was created from reference photos taken at the marsh.
