This is the peak at the front of the old barn on my Dad's farm. Dad retired from farming a long time ago, but the memories are still fresh. I had many that dealt with this barn. Since I was an ornry farm kid, I used to shoot at the pidgeons with my BB or Pellet gun. As I got older (with a little more imagination) I graduated to using Dad's old single-shot 410 shotgun. When he was a kid, he used to get in trouble shooting the 410 inside the hayloft (and putting holes in the cupola's). I was a bit different. There was an attached shed at the back of the barn we used for hogs. It had a tin roof, so by throwing a dirt clod against the side of the barn, it would shatter, sending bits and pieces crashing onto the tin roof. The hogs would get spooked, running out making all kinds of noise. I would then take aim at the window as any pidgeon would come flying out. But between the hogs "oofing" and the dust pouring out between the cracks in the wall, I was usually laughing too hard to get off a shot!
