This drawing was a bit more challenging for me. I wanted to do a full blown drawing of a forest, this is downsized from that a little. I'm always facinated by the textures of tree bark. Even more so when the bark is peeling off as the branch or the tree is dying. I wanted to try and capture the depth of the scene. This is usually much easier as a painting, but for pencil, it is much more difficult. This scene was behind my former residence, and the Black-Capped Chickadee was there to be seen practically at any time.
