Another drawing from the old farm days. As a little kid, it was amazing to see how tall the corn got. Hot summer days you could actually hear the corn growing, you could hear the corn snap and crack under the hot, humid conditions. Not comfortable for you and me, but great conditions for growing corn. Then each fall, the corn would dry, and the stalks get brittle. The leaves were very sharp and can actually cut you. Anyone who has ever detassled corn can give testimony to that!
